Go first or go last, but make sure you speak first! Phrases like ‘do you want me to go first?’ to your directs in meetings, will ensure you go first and seal your opinion without giving others a chance. You will look inclusive. This matters more than being actually inclusive.
Alternative move pro tip: start the meeting with “I’ll go last” to make sure everyone else in the room remembers you are the boss, and understand that all other comments made in this meeting will be inferior to what you will add in the closing remarks. It will also ensure all the focus at the end is on you, and the meeting minutes only remember what you had to say.

And when your directs say something that seems smarter than what you had to say in response to what you said, completely ignore what they said. Ideally 5-8 seconds of awkward silence followed by saying something completely unrelated. That’ll show em who is boss!
